Apple demand $2.5 billion in damages from Samsung

I’m sure by now we are all fed up of hearing about the battle between Apple and Samsung. Well today I bring you more updates from the battle of the giants. It seems that Apple are demanding $2.5 billion in damages from Samsung due to infringements on various patents. The breakdown of the charges are as follows:

These are the per-unit royalties that Apple calculated for its different intellectual property rights-in-suit:

  • $2.02 for the “overscroll bounce” (or “rubber-banding”) ’318 patent
  • $3.10 for the “scrolling API” ’915 patent
  • $2.02 for the “tap to zoom and navigate” ’163 patent
  • $24 for use of any of Apple’s design patents or trade dress rights

I’m sure I speak for most when I say this is just getting boring. Apple has truly become the bully of the smart phone industry. Sure Samsung may have infringed on certain patents but a bit of competition is always good. What ever happened to battling it out on the market?

You’re so right Apple are boring tha crap out of me – they need to face up to the fact they may have been inovators once but are sturggling with out Jobs’s creativity – I hear on the grapevine of AntiCompetitive lawsuits around forcing clients to write apps exclusively for IOS which i believe is illegal no ? perhaps they’ll need the money for then fines they’ll be getting.
