We all love sales right? They allow us to get good stuff at a discounted price-tag which is amazing!
These days, sales are not only applicable to physical goods, but also virtual goods. As such, every now and again, apps and games go on sale on Google Play
It can be quite difficult to keep track of apps that are on sale on Google Play. Granted, news on some of the more popular apps and games on sale will be splashed across Android websites, but what if you’re not a frequent Android news reader or someone who’d love to get niche apps at a discounted price?
Here’s where the “AppSales” app comes into the picture. It’s one of those apps that does one thing only, but does it really well. The app is still in Beta, but I find it very useful. I have snugged up quite a few apps on sale after finding out about them from this app (OfficeSuite Pro 6 +, Demolition Inc, Captain America).
This past month, I have found out about all the major apps on sale through this app first before seeing them on Android websites.
One of the apps greast features is a quality-filter for the apps catalogued, so you’re not going to be coming across rubbish apps.
You can set the minimum discount level (25% – 100%) and tweak the notification settings to get the most out of the AppSales app. For convenience purposes, you can read the description of the app on sale and see it’s Google Play rating within the app itself.
The UI is slightly left wanting on a tablet, but I presume that’s only because it’s geared more towards a phone. Aside from an uninspiring tablet UI, I can’t seem to find faults with the app.
With this app being in Beta, the developers are open to suggestions to improve it. I reached out to them via email and suggested it’d be good to have a direct link to the app on Google Play from the homepage itself, and some kind of notification to show if an app that went on sale yesterday or before that was still on sale.
Incredibly, this is actually the only app that I have found on Google Play that keeps track of Android apps on sale. If you’re a bargain hunter or just a plain stingy person who’d only get apps that cost $0.99 (like me!), then getting the AppSales app on your Android device is a no-brainer.
