I’m a self-confessed Android fan with a healthy interest in gadgets and the tech world in general. I’m fascinated by technology and the speed at which new ideas come to life. All my life I’ve been amazed by electronic devices – from the Atari games console to PlayStation to Xbox 360, noisy VHS video recorders to terrabyte hard disc recorders with 3D and HD capabilities, and from phones the size of desktop computers to computers contained inside a phone.
I was introduced to the world of Android when I got my HTC Desire – a handset that I’ve spent many hours rooting, flashing, and generally hacking to pieces. I use different handsets now for work and pleasure, but to date I have completely failed to retire my older devices and use them to try some of the amazing custom ROM’s that the Android developer community work so hard to build.
My day job is a Site Manager for a civil engineering contractor working on roads, bridges, waterways and railways all over the UK. I live near Manchester in northern England and I’m a firm believer that the mobile communications technologies we enjoy today really do make the world a much smaller and enjoyable place to be.
