The Mobilelite G2 is a file and media transfer device from Kingston Technology. This little box is simply awesome, and offers more than you think. As a wireless router the mobilelite G2 performer exceptionally well. Granted I was the only device on the network at the time. However, this speaks highly of the internals of the device. l was able to stream HD quality Netflix movies without buffering.
As a data transfer utility device it performs great. Even allowing you to be connected to the storage and a wi-fi connection at the same time, which allows you to download straight to the extended media. I really love how seamless the sharing goes. Connecting two devices at the same time makes transferring files a snap. Music, photos, even work files were easy to share to multiple people all at once. Add a USB storage device and even an SD card, hell why not add both and store files and media to either one. The choices are endless. I found transferring photos and files went really quick and as they showed up, my wife was able to pull them off just as quickly. All you need is the Mobilelite app from your respective app store and you can connect to the device and start sharing.
This device is perfect for events and conferences where your whole team is working the floor. Every member of the team can connect to the Mobilelite G2 and share everything to one storage area. I really see tons of uses for this product.
Charging and battery life were great, taking roughly 1 1/2 hours to charge the Mobilelite from 0 to 100%. Charging my mobile from the Mobilelite was quick also, taking my Note 3 from 10 to 100% in under an hour.
Build quality is great. Made of plastic it feels sturdy without being bulky and heavy. Slim enough to fit in any pocket on a bag or backpack, this device won’t burden you for room if you take it along. The ports are easily accessed and are placed in spots that make sense instead of in random places.
The real question isn’t what can you do with the Mobilelite G2, but what can’t you do? This is definitely a must have for anyone on the go, or anyone who does a lot of sharing of files between devices.
Bottom line, it is a definite great buy if you have some spare funds lying around.
