Nothing in life is perfect and even though I have yet to come across anyone who owns an HTC One that didn’t think the Zoe feature on the camera was a great idea it was not without it’s own problem. A Zoe is made up from twenty individual images (kind of like a burst mode shot) that the HTC gallery app constructs into a short video or animation. The problem is or was that when this ‘animation’ was uploaded anywhere it was uploaded as the original twenty images rather than as a single clip. Third party gallery apps also viewed the twenty individual images, and to be perfectly honest it made navigating through your images a next to impossible task unless you used the HTC gallery app.
With the 4.2.2 update HTC have fixed this problem. No longer do see a multitude of images where a Zoe sits, instead on third party apps such as QuickPic you now see a video clip of the Zoe. Even better on Google Plus you get the video clip and a still ‘cover’ shot as well.
Hats off to HTC for fixing this issue after many owners had complained about on-line storage being eaten up Zoe’s, here’s hoping they do the same for any other little niggles with Sense 5.
