Jason Mackenzie has taken to Twitter again for another announcement. Making good on his word late last week, Mr. Mackenzie has announced the OTA update for the AT&T HTC One has begun today. It’s nice to see a company official being so transparent.
This update brings the AT&T HTC One up to Android version 4.3. The version of Sense is unchanged, and remains at version 5. This gives users on the number two US network a few key changes. Quick settings, ala Nexus devices are available in the status bar pull down. There are also new highlight themes for users to take advantage of after shooting stills and Zoes. If the themes aren’t your cup of tea, you can use your own music. There is also a new setting in gestures and buttons for using a long press on the home button as a menu key, killing the black bar so many users hate.
Start checking for your updates if you have the AT&T HTC One. Ensure you are using the AT&T Software Update option, not the plain Jane Software Update. No word on how long this should take to come to all users, however if we get word we’ll update here.
