Xperia 2011 Range Not Getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update? Seems That Way According To Sony

Over at Xperia Blog something has been spotted by them on the Facebook of Sony UK. The UK Product Manager for Sony Mobile, was taking questions from consumers on their Facebook page, some slippery ones later and it seems he has revealed something many of you Sony owners may dislike. No Jelly Bean update.

He revealed the Arc S and the Mini Pro will not being getting updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Now, seen as the Arc S is the most powerful and higher specification device from 2011 in the Xperia range, it would be safe bet to say that none of the 2011 Sony range of handsets will be getting the jump to some “Project Butter” smoothness with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Seems that they have been abandoned and it makes sense seen as many struggled even with Ice Cream Sandwich. The 2012 range though will most likely (Hopefully for you users) be getting the update to Jelly Bean.

Let slip and a mishap? Seems so and we can only hope it’s not for some that really want that update. Somehow though i think they won’t.

Hi all, I’ve always been very passionate and enthusiastic about technology as a whole and originally I used to run a LAN gaming centre and computer repair shop for 4 years so with that you can imagine how much day to day technology I absorbed. After we shut up shop I moved away from technology orientated work, but I haven’t left it all together, oh no. I’m a massive Android enthusiast and starting with the HTC Hero I found my technology calling and new passion, yes the mobile world. I’ve been writing on blogs now for about 8 months and Land of Droid is now my new home. I’ll be here writing news, reviews, articles, modding world happenings and lots more.
