A survey carried out by Frank N. Magid Associates for the Online Publishers Association in the US market, indicates that 51% have Android tablets compared to Apple iPad’s 52% (yes I know that’s over 100% – some people have both). Around a year ago Android only had 32% compared to 72% iPads, which means Android has taken around 20% of market penetration away from Apple since then.
At this rate and with Google’s Nexus Tablet on the way, Android tablets will easily overtake iPads by the end of the year. However we have no idea what effect Microsoft’s Surface Tablet (due to launch in October) will have on the tablet market.
