With all the other conventions currently happening, it’s easy to forget about some of them. One of the conventions, the Game Developers Conference, doesn’t necessarily interest us Android fans. However, interesting news has come from the conference. Google product manager, Punit Soni, has said that Google is working on a unified gaming platform, which is expected to arrive by the end of the year.
Punit Soni has said that: “we will not be here talking about Google+ Games, Chrome Web Store games, Games for Native Client and Android games.” He added that Google will be working on “Google Games.” This could mean that mobile, web browser and social aspects are brought together.
Google is making the platforms unified to make it easier for developers to target. It would be very nice if progress on games can be synced between devices, such as tablets, phones and computers. Google will also be integrating hangouts and notifications across all platforms.
