If you have an unlocked or unbranded HTC One S now is the time to start hitting the “check for updates’ button. A new firmware version if being pushed OTA. The update takes you to v1.78 and is only 60MB. It is still based on Android 4.0.3. The only obvious difference is that the three dot menu software butting in certain apps has been removed. This is only in apps when the three dot menu button is a large key at the bottom of the screen and a smaller one at the top, which is a good thing as on my One X I find the bottom key to be quite obtrusive in certain applications. Hopefully the update will also fix the Wi-fi disconnection but that some users have struggled with – being an intermittent issue this isn’t confirmed yet.
Just to remind this update is for UNBRANDED handsets so if you purchased your through a carrier you are unfortunately going to have to wait a couple more weeks. Let us know if you have a One S and have noticed any other changes in this update!
