Twilio, an international cloud calling and texting platform has released it’s Android SDK allowing you to add it’s “audio pipes” to your application and much more releasing loads of potential for the next greatest app.
What’s great is also you can build apps that run pretty much everywhere on Twilio, and they’re international too without too much work. The Android SDK is Native and provides you with some great functionality such as:
- Calling other users
- Presence of others
- Receive calls without a phone number
- Call Recording
- Text-To-Speech (in case you might not publish just for Google Android)
There’s lots of interesting features in the documentation too such as automated ability to send “digits” down a phone call.
It opens up loads of possibilities for simplistic second-line apps to providing an XBox Live talking system for games. The possiblities with this are endless.
