The Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Unlocked Version Gets Its ICS Kernel Source Released

Samsung have been busy lately pushing ICS to a few devices and one of them is the popular bigger sized Galaxy Note GT-N7000. I personally know a few owners who went the quicker route of rooting and flashing said Rom instead of waiting for the update, some are still in the wings waiting on that Ice Cream Sandwich delight and the modding world is always ahead. Now, the modders and tinkerers of the Android world will now be happy even more, as will the developers of course, that Samsung have released the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 ICS kernel source.

The link you’ll be after is the GT-N7000_ICS_Opensource_Update3.zip. Head on over to the Open Source Release Center and you will now find that you can grab yourself the source right now. This will allow developers and modders to tweak a lot more and a lot easier without so many hacks or backdoor methods, it also means it opens a lot of doors to bringing the Galaxy Note a lot more of those ICS roms and mods. I know one or two users that will be flash happy pretty soon with this result.

Hi all, I’ve always been very passionate and enthusiastic about technology as a whole and originally I used to run a LAN gaming centre and computer repair shop for 4 years so with that you can imagine how much day to day technology I absorbed. After we shut up shop I moved away from technology orientated work, but I haven’t left it all together, oh no. I’m a massive Android enthusiast and starting with the HTC Hero I found my technology calling and new passion, yes the mobile world. I’ve been writing on blogs now for about 8 months and Land of Droid is now my new home. I’ll be here writing news, reviews, articles, modding world happenings and lots more.
