Huawei have apparently confirmed to PocketLint that the Huawei Ascend D Quad will be coming to the UK. Huawei of course claimed that this was the world’s fastest smartphone at MWC and this will be their flagship device for 2012.The Chinese manufacturer’s are taking a big step forward here away from the budget line and now going toe to toe with the high-end behemoths in the market.
Huawei have also confirmed now that the Ascend P1S and P1 would also be heading to the British isles and it’s looking like July and onwards time that we could be see Huawei’s high end line up over here.
Huawei fans will love this news and welcome them coming over to the UK. It’s an extra competitor for Samsung, HTC, Sony, Motorola and others to contend with in the high-end market and the trio of phones Huawei will be bringing here will offer something new with it’s own style.
Will they compete well here in the UK? Who knows, it’s not a well known name among general consumers and that may hinder them, but then again if it’s Orange and Vodafone that will pick these up as usual with Huawei, then we will likely see a full rebrand. Now as the Huawei series will be pretty much a stock Android experience it’ll be interesting to see what carriers here do with them, if left stock or close then it gives it a very unique selling point. Ice Cream Sandwich on a device in the UK market that’s using the stock UI, will the general consumers care? No probably not, but I know some that will.
Enthusiast of the Android world…. Do you want a Huawei device coming to the UK soon?
