Their will be plenty of announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week. But one that we are all pretty sure of is the yet to be named Sony Ericsson Xperia HD or “Nozomi” if you like.
ITProPortal.com has published some images that they got from a trusted source. With the device in hand before we see it at CES, i think it’s looking pretty sweet already from the images below..
They have also got hold of some benchmarking of the device which reveals a lot more information as well.
The results show that the “Nozomi” or as i believe it will be called the Sony Ericsson Arc HD. Will contain a HD screen that has a now seemingly high end standard of 1280×720. Running Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread is a bit of a let-down with Ice Cream Sandwich here, but with Sony Ericsson being very good at upgrading there handsets, i think we won’t have to wait long until we see ICS on this beast. Let’s hope it comes out to the general public with ICS 4.0 ready for the consumers to enjoy and not be stuck with 2.3.7, which in my opinion I think we will see.
It also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 chip and this supports dual-core and up to 1.5ghz. Confirmed is that it has a impressive 12MP camera, presumably it will have the Exmore R sensor and the rest of Sony Ericsson great camera technology expertise thrown in for measure.
1GB of RAM and the for storage it seems like it is internal only. 8GB is the offering here and it seems silly to offer only that, we may be seeing extra offerings here like 16GB or 32GB as well i feel.
It also has a MicroSim. So it’s joining the iPhone and RAZR their with that method.
Hitting a pretty decent score of 2219 on the benchmark scores. Although it was used with the Quadrant Standard application, which is not the best and accurate with Dual-Core devices really. Still, it’s a step up from the Sony Ericsson devices at the high-end at the moment and from the class of 2011 like the ARC S, Neo and Play.
Check out the Benchmark scores below.
I think it’s safe to say CES will be pretty darn exciting. Sony Ericsson look as ever strong going forward and progressing ahead. The Sony Ericsson Arc HD (We’ll call it this for now) is shaping up, on this source at least to be looking a nice addition to the high-end market.
Propping up with it’s amazing 12 megapixel camera and most likely housing the Exmore Sensor R technology, lightweight skin build (Or maybe pure ICS is rumoured, lets hope!), Nice build quality and fantastically bright and beautiful HD 1280×720 screen. Sony Ericsson, You are looking good with the Arc HD.
