So I am proud to report that I am now the proud new owner of a HTC One X! I did admittedly wait until the Samsung Galaxy SIII was announced to see what the competition was going to be like and even what Samsung had to offer. I think however I just wanted the HTC One X. I’m not going to do a full review (as Tony already has here!) on this beautiful handset this is just a rambling of my initial thoughts on the device.
As a previous HTC user I liked their handsets, however when I had my Desire the Sense software was very intrusive and generally after a few months use my opinion of it was “just a simple smart phone.” My opinion obviously and feel free to disagree.
When the HTC One series was first announced I instantly like the look of the handsets. Very smooth, flashy and modern looking. The One X is perhaps a bit large but I can cope with that (it’s not exactly a Note now is it!) and my personal favourite it was available in white instantly!
Now for me HTC have always always always got it right when it comes too music apps/sound/general quality and my opinion has been fully backed up here. The music application provides everything I want, including linking all music apps such as Amazon MP3 and SoundHound within the same application and a great selection of home screen and lock screen widgets. Also the beats technology makes the sound pretty amazing with a bigger range of volume to the device, the loudest setting on my S2 wasn’t anywhere as near as loud as this (not necessarily a good thing!) but I do love my music loud.
For me this phone hits most things on the head. The screen quality is just amazing and even images seem so much clearer even though it is a fairly standard 8 megapixel camera. HTC seem to of gotten it right with Sense 4.0 seems a lot less intrusive than previous versions.
Overall I am very pleased with my new purchase and am I glad I got this instead of waiting for the SIII. Please stay tuned for more thoughts as updates happen for the handset and as new apps catch my interest!
