Today, Panasonic have announced that their new smartphone the Eluga, which is their first to hit Europeans and is expected to arrive by spring. Panasonic are relatively unknown in the smartphone world, but they are extremely popular in Asian countries like Japan bringing loads of features like Live TV (as in via a special network without buffering and data connections). This is great news as Panasonic provide low-cost but really quite amazing phones.
The known specifications are:
- Waterproof, dustproof and generally resilient device
- qHD 960×540 OLED display
- Possibly act as a remote for Panasonic HDTVs
As of yet, we don’t know what version of Android will be shipping on this device or much of anything else, but it’s good to see Japanese manufacturers getting on the smartphone markets away from home.
