France will be getting it’s first LTE network(s0 later on this year. Orange France already covers more than 50% of the population and have announced this week it’s 4G pilot for release at some point in June, rolling out in Marseille.
The carrier has announced a combination of 2.6 GHz and 800 MHz frequencies for it’s LTE services and will be using a network infrastructure supple by Alcatel-Lucent.
Other French operators haven’t announced anything as of yet but it’s only natural they don’t want to be left behind and is probably safe to assume they are currently buzzing away on their own LTE networks
