A great man, Eric Schmidt once said 2012 will be the year for Google TV. OEM’s and Google are certainly not to disappoint us and keep their word, that’s why LG will be announcing a Google TV on January 9th, at CES 2012. The TV is going to debut in 2012 stateside but across the pond they have to wait until 2013 (another late launch for Europeans but nonetheless a launch indeed).
This won’t just be another Google TV this TV will feature a Cinema 3D technology and also offer their NetCast-based Smart TV platform, so we can expect this to be a fully-featured high-end TV. Along with the TV you will get a Magic Remote which works just as a Wii remote does. If that isn’t enough for us lazy people there are voice controls so just talk and the channel will change.
Marvell, MediaTek and Vizio will aslo be looking to launch their first Google TV’s with Sony, and Samsung looking to continue their Google TV line and launch TVs outside of the US. Over 150 apps will be designed specifically for these TVs so you will still feel the android ecosystem.
Are you going to buy a Google TV in the year of Google TVs?
