Jury rules Google does not infringe on Oracle’s patents

The Jury’s in, and it’s in our favour, Google does not infringe on the patents RE38,104 and 6,061,520. This is great news!

It means Google do not have to pay any damages which is awesome news for everyone and it seems Judge William Alsup pretty much helped this whole case to go to the best company for the open-source world.

There’s a few bits which are unclear, the Jury ruled that Google have infringed on Java’s organization but were unable to rule if that is covered as fair use. The judge will rule on this soon.
