It always amazes me how quickly the Android Dev community move when there is a new device on the scene, hell Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo has been known to provide Root for phones not even released so it’s hardly surprising when we see that the newly released HTC One X already a CyanogenMod 9 and MIUI 4 ROM available.
Of course, nothing ever goes smoothly on first releases so lets take a look at what’s hot and what’s not on the HTC One X.
CyanogenMod 9:
- 3G is slow to connect
- No Camera
- No WiFi Hotspot
- Remapped buttons (multi-tasking now acts as menu button)
- No more black bar across the bottom of the screen on apps not optimised for Android 4.0
MIUI 4:
- No known issues or improvements
Remember though folks, you will need to Root your handset in order to use or try these ROM’s
