Yes indeed people the HTC Endeavour, or the Edge as it was known before in leaked circles had it’s RUU leaked out into the world, this of course didn’t take long for developers alike to rip it apart and reveal what we will be getting.
Well, we reported here at Land of Droid on a leaked source via MoDaCo what was it believed to be getting on launch and it is very much correct to what the Build.prop suggest from this leaked RUU.
Along in the Build.prop it reveals that it does have a Tegra 3 chip, it is a 4.7” 720p Resolution screen, Bluetooth 4.0 is there, as is NFC. Connectivity wise it has 900/1800/1900/850 MHz radio bands, now it also indicates the name is HTC Endeavour and also a European GSM model, good news for the European Android fans who thought they might miss out on this big time handset. The US market as normal will most likely have a different name or derivatives of the model itself
The cameras are as leaked in a rear 8MP offering, along to with a 1.3MP front facing camera.
HTC Sense 4.0 is there to be seen, Dropbox, but a weird thing to see is Skydrive the Microsoft cloud storage and largely WP7 based integrated service. Something up the sleeve maybe? Whatever the case it’s shaping up nicely.
Whether this will be the flagship handset to be revealed at MWC remains to be seen, many believe the HTC Ville will be the main flagship model sporting as always in a HTC device a Qualcomm Dual-Core Chip. The HTC Endeavour could very well be a experiment of sorts and an avenue to see where using other chips goes.
Ports will no doubt start showing up sharpish, but with the difference in hardware, size of the ROM and other little issues in older devices it will take a big job in getting it done. Hey, the Android Community is an excellent force though, the developers out their can do some amazing things. Maybe we will see a HTC Endeavour Sense 4.0 port before it releases itself at MWC.
MWC is only a couple of weeks away and it’s hotting up. Can HTC recover from the past 12 months of slipping down the manufacturer pecking order…. I think it has some redeeming to do and 2012 could be a comeback year.
