If you pre-ordered a Nexus Q, then you have most likely received an email notifying you of the status of your order. Here’s a copy of the email that Google sent out:
“We have an important update about your Nexus Q pre-order.
When we announced Nexus Q at Google I/O, we gave away devices to attendees for an early preview. The industrial design and hardware were met with great enthusiasm. We also heard initial feedback from users that they want Nexus Q to do even more than it does today. In response, we have decided to postpone the consumer launch of Nexus Q while we work on making it even better.
To thank you for your early interest, we’d like to extend the Nexus Q preview to our pre-order customers and send you a free device. If you had other items in your order, your credit card will be charged for those items only.
Your Nexus Q will be on its way soon and you will receive a notification and tracking number from Google Play when it ships.
The Nexus Q Team”
This is both good and bad news. The good news is that if you pre-ordered a Nexus Q, you get a free one. Another positive outcome that was caused by the quick development of the Nexus Q is that Google has been sent back to the drawing board. It seems as though Google heard the demands and pleas of its consumers, and has decided to change up the device.
The bad news is that it will take longer for the Nexus Q to get released to consumers. This also means that you’ll be getting a soon “outdated” version of the Nexus Q. But, on a positive note, Google is rewarding those of you that stood by their side from the beginning. It will be very interesting to see what Google comes up with for the newest version of the Nexus Q.

Man, now I wish that I had pre-ordered!
