Site Update:

Google has now acquired Motorola properly

Google have just announced that they have acquired Motorola Mobility. This means all of the related authorities are happy with the deal, and are happy to let Motorola fall into the hands of Motorola.

For us as users, hopefully we can see Motorola take some pushing from Google to drop stuff like custom-skins (or just to a point where they improve the phone, and not degrade it). However, with news of Google promising to keep Android open for 5 years is a little worrying as to what happens beyond then, but for now it’s full steam ahead and it will probably give the other manufacturers such as Samsung, a big gap for them to innovate and keep up with what Google wants to push forward with.

We can guess that Motorola might be involved with producing any kinds of Hardware for Google on a mass-commercial basis, but let’s hope they make the company awesome!
