Google have just announced that Google Drive is officially launching, with 5GB of free storage, Google Docs features and it’s rolling out to everyone as we speak.
Here’s the YouTube video to get you started:
For those already using cloud storage, all expected features are there:
- Sharing with others
- Discussing documents with others
- History
- Paid storage options (up to 1TB!)
- API for Developers
But this is Google, and they want to offer more including
- OCR recognition of documents
- “View anything” including HD Video, images and documents
- Google Doc’s collaboration and feature set
- Apps for Android (iOS devices soon)
- Screen Reading capability for blind users
- Mac and PC (presumably Windows, but this will be clarified soon, sorry Linux fans!)
And on Land Of Droid, once our team members’ Google Drives are activated, we will provide a review of the Android app as soon as we can!
