For those of you who have a Google TV, last week something amazing showed up in the Market. OnLive viewer was the first thing you saw when you opened the Market, now I don’t know about you but I polished up my keyboard, grabbed a bag of chips, some drinks and I was ready to battle all night long right from my TV.
Boy was I wrong! It seems the app is just a viewer, an app so I can watch other gamers getting the satisfaction of shooting someone, stealing a car or whatever. The only real way to describe my dis-appointment is this, it’s like giving a teenager keys to a brand new car, but then you don’t tell him where the car is.
Also on the Google TV is the Spotlight for TV section. In this section there are web games available to play if you are a toddler. These are not games I want to invite my buddies over to show them, I want my friends to come over, grab the keyboard and jump right into a battle or a race not sit there throwing birds at birds.
Now that CES is underway I have not seen one gamed being played on a Google TV (other than Angry Birds) which is pretty sad. Sure I own both the Xbox and PS3 but I want to games on my Google TV – that’s real games – you know, the same ones that other Android users get to play.
