The development efforts on the brand new, Intel-powered Motorola RAZR i keep on pouring in, seemingly non-stop. We have already a unlocked bootloader courtesy of Motorola, and now we have an easier way and to seamlessly root the device, thanks to XDA Forum Member mattlgroff.
Well, the path to perfection is never ending, paving it with more and better ways to make daunting tasks a little bit easier seems to be the most logical choice. Because of this, mattlgroff has decided to once again, contribute his knowledge and tools to benefit other forum members.
This time around, the dev has released fastboot images for all your flashing pleasures. These quasi-automated images will allow you to quickly switch between builds and leaks of different kinds/countries thanks to the gift of fastboot. These tools will do everything for you, from flashing the device
with your build of choice to rooting it and flashing an unsecured kernel, all in one fell swoop! This only works on Windows, but if you have other needs, such as a different OS loaded on your PC, you could easily just use the other tools provided by the dev and simply flash the images manually and root with RAZR i Root.

With the help of a command from P3Droid I am able to make fastbootable images from my RAZR i. When finding leaks and other fun things now I can much easier switch between firmwares. Since I only made these for useful tools for myself and not intended to make for public release, the automated flashing+rooting for them included will be Windows only. You can manually flash with fastboot commands, and root with my RAZR i Root utility.
The dev mentions that “dirty flashing” has been ok in his own experience. However, since switching between builds could normally lead to weird bugs, it is recommended that you fully wipe your device prior to switching between images.
