BSkyB have announced that they are set to launch a NEW streaming TV service starting tomorrow named Now TV.
At launch, just like Sky Go, the service will be restricted to certain handsets however as yet which handsets will be in the supported lists is unknown.
Simon Creasey, Director, NOW TV, comments:
“As we move forward, NOW TV will get even bigger and better, with more devices and more platforms in the coming months. Customers can also look forward to the best live action from Sky Sports and great drama, comedy and entertainment from our Sky channels.”
Before you all start getting excited about this service, which some people are touting to be a rival to Netflix and Lovefilm, it’s worth noting that this service carries with it some outrageous costs and that it’s NOT free to current Sky subscribers.
Prices will start from 99p for classic titles to £3.49 for the latest blockbusters with NOW TV’s ‘Pay & play’ movies range or if you don’t have enough places to spend your hard earned cash you could always waste another £15 a month to get instant and unlimited access to the entire Sky Movies collection (that’s 600 movies from the likes of Disney, Fox, Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros, and Universal).
You can get your hands on Sky NOW TV from tomorrow (17 July) using a PC, Mac or Android device. Yes that’s right folks, for a change, our poor friends over at Castle CrApple will need to wait as it’s simply not ready for them yet.
