BBC have updated their news application to support 10 inch, android tablet running honeycomb, and ice cream sandwich. The application will have the split pane view like many tablet apps where you read the story on one side of the screen and can browse all the news on the other side of the screen. The application only supports 10 inches and if you have a 7inch device you will have the regular phone version.
This statement came from the BBC blog:
Growing numbers of people are accessing BBC News on mobiles and tablets. In an average week, the BBC News sites and apps are visited by around 9.7m users worldwide on mobile and tablet devices. That represents about 26% of the total.
The BBC News product development team will be working on further mobile and tablet improvements over the coming year.
The tablet version of the app is only available in the UK for now and will be going international soon.
