Apple Amends Lawsuit to Include S III

So in the ongoing battle between Apple and Samsung, in a Californian federal court, Apple has added another Samsung device to the list. Back in December the presiding judge denied Apple’s request for a preliminary injunction on a wide variety of Samsung products. They have since filed for more injunctions on newer products including, you guessed it the S III.

Apple are claiming that the S III infringes on the same “data tapping” patent it has accused HTC and Motorola of infringing on. They have now extended it to include the Android long-press action dialogue menu on URL’s – links in Gmail, browser and so on. The S III has also been accused of violation a “unified search” patent, which in some ways relates to Siri’s ability to decide what actions to take and options to provide on command. Apple has also accused a few other Samsung phone’s of this too such as the Galaxy Nexus.

Apple are obviously stressing this as urgent especially with the amount of S III pre-orders world wide at the moment. I personally find this all to be a bit trivial and annoying, I can fully see Apple’s frustration in similar software being produced to theirs but is the only way for them to become market Kings once again really to bully everyone else out of the water?
