We discovered a bug in the Android 4.2 update, which makes it impossible to enter December events in optional fields of the People app (this bug did not affect Calendar). Rest assured, this will be fixed soon so that those of you with December birthdays and anniversaries won’t be forgotten by your friends and family.
If you are a Google+ user or follow Tech blogs then you would no doubt have seen this announcement made yesterday by Google.
Now I’m not one to gloat at misfortunes or point fingers however it’s worth pointing out that whilst this is great, it’s maybe time to admit that 4.2 is probably the buggiest release of the Android OS in history.
The good folks over at Android Police have compiled a list of defects that they are aware of however I can guarantee there are a lot more.
Just yesterday, our very own Craig Clark pointed me to a bug that affects the vibrate function on the phone. If you disable vibrate as an option it seems that certain apps are ignoring the rule such as G-Talk, Gmail and Email in general.
Add those to some which are being raised today, following the push of Android 4.2 to the GNEX devices yesterday, such as a Bluetooth bug that causes it to switch off immediately after being switched on.
Of course a full factory reset may solve a lot of these issues however we would like to hear your thoughts, is this this the buggiest ever build? Do you have any of the bugs mentioned above? Do you have any not mentioned?
