The first Android phone, of course we all know it’s the T-Mobile G1/HTC Dream. I wouldn’t have thought there was many using it daily as their only device, but you may have one tucked away somewhere as a memento.
With all the ICS ports going round now after the release of the Android 4.0.1 Source, did you really think the original little green robot’s inhabitants would be left out? of course not.
It looks pretty slow and a fair few things are not working like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Screen Rotation, but it’s coming along otherwise nicely. It’s pretty cool nonetheless that ICS is on the G1 regardless of what stage it’s at and being just over 3 years old now it’s a pretty damn good achievment for the G1, Android community and Developers.
Below is the cool video below of the G1 In action with Ice Cream Sandwich.
To get the world first Android handset the G1 running this build then head on over to the XDA Forums where all the details have been posted and the download link to get flashing.
