At the end of last week we reported that Samsung was not going to be putting ICS on the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab due to TouchWiz and had asked your opinion on the matter. Well it would seem now, after a huge outcry, that the Korean-based company has changed it’s tune.
Both MSN Korea and AJNews (via TheVerge) report that Samsung has stated that, due to customer response, it will re-investigate the merits and possibility of installing ICS on the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab. However it still maintains that putting ICS on the limited memory footprint of those devices makes it difficult – meaning TouchWiz is still planning to be included in any ICS implementation on the Galaxy S and Tab.
We tip our hats to the consumer, and look forward to seeing what Samsung has to say, but let’s not hold our breathe.
