Cyanogen Mod is an amazing rom, and the development team behind it is one heck of a team, and when an issue pops up they likely will fix it. Unless they can’t do it without the source code to the radio from Samsung. Especially when the issue makes it so you can’t call 911 in case of an emergency.
We are no longer supporting the Vibrant due to the inability to dial 911. We consider the issues related to this unresolvable without source code from Samsung related to the Radio interface layer and its interactions with the Audio layers and have taken the decision to no longer support this. We apologize for the inconvenience and strongly suggest that Vibrant users use a Samsung ROM due to the 911 issues with any ROMs based on open source code.
This was a smart move by cyanogen because even though they warn they are not responsible for anything that happens to your phone, if they’re the reason you can’t call the cops when needed that won’t look to good for them. If you already have cyanogen mod on the phone you can still use it but there will be no official support from Steve and his team.
This is the same issue with the Epic 4g, which is why CM was never officially released for that device either.
Happy flashing (any rom that’s not CM) and just incase of an emergency at least you can call 911.
