While this comes as no big shock, it is a shame. Logitech’s CEO, Guerrino De Luca, has said that the Logitech Revue “cost us dearly”.
Logitech recently had an Analyst and Investor Day, where the CEO was fairly blunt about the failure of the Logitech Revue. Amongst many other things, he said that the device was “a mistake of implementation of a gigantic nature”. He also continued to say that it cost the company “well over $100M in operating profits”.
Logitech will let all the current stock of Revues run out and he confirmed that there will not be another Google TV box after the Revue. However, he did later say that Google TV will have a chance to be good in the future.
This isn’t good news following Adobe’s news recently; They said that they will also stop developing Flash for Google TV. Lets hope Google TV 3.1 can fix that a bit.
