Wow AndroidPolice have excelled themselves tonight and now even more with there Verizon source Geek Vundotra. We will let the quote from AndroidPolice explain that bit for you below.
Our story begins like any other — with a person. Not just any person, though — this person is special. They go by the name of Geek Vundotra, and they work for Verizon. Geek is a Verizon engineer who happens to be carrying a very special phone known simply as the Nexus Prime. A phone he happens to leave in a bar… or something like that. Now, thanks to Geek’s screw-up, we have some goodies for all of you that are sure to get you excited for what’s to come.
Basically it a compete update bringing a fresher interface and with better controls and a whole lot of improvements.
Here are some of the pictures the Android Police original post.
To the left is the old 3 Google Music application and the right the new ICS Google Music 4. As you can see the interface as got some minor changes in look and it seems a lot fresher. I am just playing around with it now and can say it feels cleaner and nicer to work with.
Here is the selection menu your presented with when you hold and press on a song for example. As you can see there are also some minor changes here too with instead of a popup like box you now get a dialog like box with a nicer look. Also as you can notice there isn’t the available offline option which could mean changes in how the music streams and caches.
Here you see the actual player itself and it has received a makeover with it coming in with the rest of the new look. Its very nice and cool looking with a more sleeker design, plus the buttons are now out of the way and better placed. Without the Search psychical key in ICS you will be seeing that search symbol a lot i should imagine, in this Google Music you can see it in the top right hand corner.
The Album cover if tapped will now offer some addition controls that are shuffle and repeat in Google Music 3. Well do the same in Google Music 4 and the options are now see details about the currently playing track and artists. Google Music 4 also offers track rating by way of thumbs up and thumbs down, so you’ll hear more of what you like and less of what you don’t by a favourite system almost.
Here at Land Of Droid we have also put together a little walkthrough and little look at the Google Music 4.0.1 with a video to showcase it and show you what its all about.
Sit back and enjoy the video below.
You can download the Apk now from AndroidPolice and there upload or from us for an alternative link.

Please remember these details as they may help you if you encounter any issues.
If you have a previous version of Google Music installed, you must uninstall it first! If Music was preinstalled on your device, use Titanium Backup to uninstall it and then reboot your device. After that, you should be able to install this just like any other app.
If your music doesn’t sync after installing, simply head into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and clear data. Should work after that.
Big thanks should go to AndroidPolice here as they have brought to us a lot with the help of their little helper Geek Vundotra. ICS is getting nearer release and these are little tasters of things to come, exciting stuff and we can’t wait.
