The leakers supreme AndroidPolice have another exclusive and it again is courtesy of their “source” Geek Vundotra. The man from Verizon or wherever it may be has given them details about the CDMA Verizon Nexus Prime. Well, apparently it will infact be called not the Nexus Prime but Google and Samsung have decided on calling it the Galaxy Nexus instead. That’ll be a shame as i rather liked the Nexus Prime name as it gave a name of stature and superiority and in my view the Galaxy Nexus sounds like just another Samsung device on the Galaxy Range not with the Google Nexus distinction either.
Now, currently we have two main sets of specification leaks regarding the Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus and they come from BGR and GSMarena. Slightly different and still unknown to whether which one is totally concrete it seems, but now we can maybe shed some light at least on the CDMA Verizon version with AndroidPolice and their exclusive via “Geek Vundotra”.
According to their source, the very first CDMA Galaxy Nexus which apparently should be the model SCH-i515 and it seems it goes along with BGR’s specs with similar effect. You will also see that the build version number being confirmed as 4.0 which i think we can safely say is what it will be with the Google Music leak version being 4.0.1 and Honeycomb being 3.x i don’t think we will be seeing a number like 2.4 somehow.
Here below is what AndroidPolice have listed from the information they got from their source.
- OMAP 4460 processor Underclocked to 1.2Ghz for stability
- 32GB internal storage
- no SD card slot (like the Nexus S, argh)
- LED notification (unlike the Nexus S)
- 1GB RAM
- 1080p HD recording @30fps
- 5MP rear camera
- possibly some sort of a time lapse feature
- Ice Cream Sandwich confirmed as Android 4.0
- Internally, the Verizon Nexus is known as Tuna/Tuna 4G (board/model) as well as Toro (product/device)
- Galaxy Nexus name
- large screen – we all take 4.65 or so for granted, but I wasn’t able to confirm the exact size, so I am only including things we know
Over the pond here in the UK this doesn’t of course mean that these will be the specs we see, as for one we don’t have LTE and a lot of the time with Samsung in particular devices are slightly different between the US and UK. We often get different specs with devices and different names, so maybe we will still be getting a Nexus Prime as that Samsung source suggested and GSMarena type specs instead of the CDMA Verizon Galaxy Nexus ones suggested here by AndroidPolice and their source.
It must also be noted that GSMarena are maybe going off a model number of a device that maybe something down the line such as the recently leaked Samsung Galaxy SIII. it doesn’t mean it isn’t so we can only take what we have at the moment and that is the stateside CDMA Verizon version details leaked here and at BGR.
Do you like what you see? Let us know what you think if this is the possible specs we could be seeing.
