After Google decided to not release its AOSP source for Honeycomb, it was assumed that the next version of CyanogenMod would be identified as CM9 not CM8 (CM7 was Gingerbread). Recently it was announced by Cyanogen via Twitter that CM9 would be coming in 2 months.
Well, very early builds of CM9 for the Nexus S and Galaxy S (i9000) have recently made their way to XDA. They are nowhere near being ready for daily use, and in fact are missing the normal CM goodies, but will give you a good taste of what is to come.
